Everything You Need to Know About ColourPop’s ‘Hocus Pocus’ Collection

Are you a Winnifred, a Mary or a Sarah?

I’m going to come out and say it—”Hocus Pocus” was a cultural reset. The 1993 film was brought to audiences by director Kenny Ortega (who also gave us the “High School Music” franchise) and starred legendary actors Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker as witchcraft’s ultimate trio—The Sanderson Sisters. Since its release, over 25 years ago, the film has only grown in cult status and a sequel for Disney+ is currently in the works.

While it’s unlikely that the sequel will come this Halloween, don’t you fret my children, because ColourPop Cosmetics has come through and delivered. ColourPop Cosmetics has teamed up with Disney once again (following past collaborations with “Mulan” and “Frozen”) to present their “Hocus Pocus” makeup line.

Taking inspiration from the iconic witchy trio, ColourPop Cosmetics has released a collection of lipsticks, lip liners, eyeliners, false lashes, glitters and one spooktacular eyeshadow palatte. The shades, packaging and names of the line are heavily inspired by the film, allowing beauty enthusiasts to pick products based on their favorite Sanderson sister. If you’re a fan of Winnifred, there’s the “I Put a Spell on You” lipstick and lipliner duo, as well as the “Boss Witch” false lashes. If Mary is your girl, there’s the “I Smell Children!” lipstick and lipliner duo, as well as the “Clever Witch” false lashes. Then, if you see yourself as a Sarah, there’s the “I am Beautiful!” lipstick and lipliner duo, as well as the “Flirty Witch” false lashes. The color scheme of the line plays heavily on the makeup and costuming from the film, from the sister’s signature purple, red and blonde hair to their perfectly red lips to their colorful robes. The product line ranges from $8 to $22 and you can snatch up the entire “Hocus Pocus” collection (15 products in total) for just $130!

I find it important to mention that I began writing about this product line prior to it’s release at 1pm ET on September 30th. When this collection dropped, hysteria ensued and the site couldn’t handle the huge volume of “Hocus Pocus” fans charging the site. Beauty lovers turned to the page’s Instagram to share their grievances, with one user @amadwomann cleverly putting it “The site hath crashed, my sisters.” Well done, witches.
