What is Leo?
Leo is the fifth sign in the zodiac and Leos have birthdays between July 23rd and August 22nd. The name originates from its constellation and it’s represented by the lion. Leo is the fixed fire sign and it’s ruled by the Sun.
If your Sun is in Leo, you’re basically a walking ball of sunshine. You love being a Leo and always smile while telling people your sign. You definitely lean into your creative sign and are an extremely loyal friend.
If your Moon is in Leo, you have an exceptionally warm heart. You’re very generous and have a light about you that attracts others to your presence. And despite what people may think, you can be very sensitive and you often feel as if your feelings are “special” compared to others.
If your Rising is in Leo, you’re known for being big and bold. You like to be the life of the party and are known for your extraversion. You also have a flair for the dramatic, which frequently manifests through your choices in clothing, makeup and hair.
Leos are most compatible with their fellow fire signs, Aries and Sagittarius. You can also have magnetic chemistry with dynamic air signs like Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. You’re typically least compatible with sensitive water signs—Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.
Leos will often find success in leadership-based careers like politics, teaching and entrepreneurship. You also love being in the spotlight and expressing your creativity, making you a great fit for careers in the entertainment industry.
